If you have trouble killing the big spider: Save your CDs until she enters the fight. Then kill her faster than she can kill you. Burst through her damage. I did it with item level 824.

You have to travel (ride an inferno hawk near the quest giver) to 26.5 58.8, there the path to starts. Proceed until you find Emberscar in the ground. Interact with it and slay few spiders as fight starts. You also have to slay Garixxia, who comes later. Pick up Emberscar, Brand of Damnation as all enemies dead and bring it to Lord Smolderon.

If you are killing Garixxia and nothing is happening, then you probably (like me) ran to her instead of taking the inferno hawk ride. Run back, ride the hawk, kill the spider, and it should work fine.
