It could be a bug, if you are a elemental and possibly for Resto shaman as well, you probably won't be able to pick up the quest from the Therazane. You can see the quest mark on the map, but you just can't pick it up from the Therazane. You talk to her and she just won't give you the quest. You have to complete the Doomhammer weapon quest, which is Enh shaman weapon quests. Then go back and talk to her.

if your are Enh shaman at the beginning, you probably wont have this bug.

At first, when I just got at Deepholm, I found myself wondering which was the best way to go, simply forgot that I'm able to fly there lol

An update to anyone reading this: To get past the bug in the resto/elemental quest lines, you only need to do the first 5 quests in the enhance quest line. Immediately after getting the Doomhammer, you can teleport back to Deepholm and the Stonemother should give you this quest (assuming that you have completed The Great Stonemother, the previous quest for resto).

I was leveling my Gnome Warrior, got to 87 and wanted to go back and farm Embersilk cloth to get my First Aid caught up, so I went back to Deepholm. I was flying around killing stuff with ease, because, after all, I'm considerably above level for this zone. I haven't leveled a Shaman yet, and didn't realize there was an upper level sub-zone. Yeah...I died so fast. I was like, What the heck just hit me? Did I wander into a Horde camp? Checked the NPCs that just trounced me, and saw level ?, and then came here to find out why there were high level NPCs in a lower level zone. Oops. That'll teach me to check before I charge.

Description

The Twilight's Hammer has reemerged and they are building an army to overthrow my kingdom. A ludicrous fantasy on their part, but one that I cannot take lightly.

I cannot offer the mortal races my aid until the threat to Deepholm has been dealt with. If you truly wish to unite the Elemental Lords to your cause, I would see you prove it.
