Make sure you have your whirlwind following you and drag it through the red mist to get a sample.

I had to follow it around for a few seconds and it has a ticking damage, very minimal damage but it took a few seconds of following it to get the quest completion.

They show up on your map if you have a Zapthrotle's Mote Extractor in your bags.

The red mist is like a red cloud, moving around along the river. - Stay in the red cloud to collect a sample, and the quest is completed.

* Blizzard's questhelper will show you the exact location of the area it is in.

For those of you wondering,

The red tornado (or regular tornado) does NOT follow you when you zone out of Deepholm.

I always try stuff like this out so I can have cool graphical effects (or items) outside of their intended areas.

Not telling how many I have on my main, but it's a lot. :P I just mention when they DON'T work. Wish more people would do the same. :)

You have to stand in the dust for a few second for the tornado to take sample it will make u take dmg but it wont kill u.

I had no problems losing the wind on the way to the red mist area but it wouldn't collect until I dismounted. Hope this helps.

there is a red cloud on the floor and you have to drag the "tornado" in it, if you have a hard time seeing the red cloud it may be because your graphics settings are too low, just turn up "Particle Density" up temporarily and you will see it very well

Description

I'm no druid, but some of these mushrooms do not look to be naturally occurring. I know that our Stone Lord friend over there is eager to blame this on exposure to Azeroth, but I suspect more domestic causes.

I saw some clouds of red mist to the northeast, near the water's edge. They seemed to be spurring new growth in their wake. Take one of my wind-devils with you and get me a sample from those clouds. You may have to stay close to the ground to spot them.
