How to summon the specific bosses is very simple. Each different Sentinax Beacon summons mobs that drop additional Sentinax Beacons for that specific Beacon and ultimately the Portal Stone (boss).

You get the Uncommon (green quality) Sentinax Beacons from the standard mobs in the area, you then need to farm the mobs that come out of the Sentinax Portal until they drop a Rare (blue quality) Sentinax Beacon and use it to empower the portal, it is only after this that the Portal Stone can drop. Keep using all the Rare Sentinax Beacons you get to extend the duration of the Sentinax Beacon.

If you already happen to have a Rare Sentinax Beacon you can use that immediately, the portal will spawn regardless if there's a portal spawned by an Uncommon Sentinax Beacon or not.

Illisthyndria requires Sentinax Beacon of Torment -> Sentinax Beacon of Greater Torment -> Portal-Stone: Illisthyndria
The mobs that spawn from these portals are Sentinax Observer, Sentinax Warden, Legion Painmaiden.

Fel Obliterator requires Sentinax Beacon of Engineering -> Sentinax Beacon of Greater Engineering -> Portal-Stone: Fel Obliterator
The mobs that spawn from these portals are Cursed Pillager, Putrid Alchemist, Mo'arg Brute, Mo'arg Bonecrusher, Gan'arg Engineer.

An'thyna requires Sentinax Beacon of Warbeasts -> Sentinax Beacon of Greater Warbeasts -> Portal-Stone: An'thyna
The mobs that spawn from these portals are Spellstalker, Legion Venomretcher, Legion Webspewer, Rotwing Ripper, Dark Felshrieker.

Force-Commander Xillious requires Sentinax Beacon of Carnage -> Sentinax Beacon of Greater Carnage -> Portal-Stone: Force-Commander Xillious
The mobs that spawn from these portals are Doomguard Firecaller, Wrathguard, Felguard Invader, Doombringer.

Than'otalion requires Sentinax Beacon of Domination -> Sentinax Beacon of Greater Domination -> Portal-Stone: Than'otalion
The mobs that spawn from these portals are Felsworn Chaos Mage, Battlesworn Nether-Mage, Hungering Stalker, Infectious Stalker, Darkfiend Devourer, Dark Ritualist, Debilitating Eye, Draining Eye.

While it may not be up all the time, the Nether Disruptor building is a fantastic way to get the greater beacons used to grind for the epic quality beacon to summon the bosses. Each of the rare mobs that spawn from the unstable nether portals, with use of Nether Portal Disruptor, have a high chance to drop a greater beacon. They will usually drop uncommon beacons of the same type which can then be used to extend the duration of the greater beacon.(##RESPBREAK##)272##DELIM##Uchur##DELIM##

You'll see the message " has summoned a demonic lieutenant!" if you're in the area under the Sentinax when one of these is spawned.

And, after killing one of these Lieutenants, the Sentinax "recalls its portals and begins recharging." It takes 3 minutes before you'll see "The Sentinax has finished recharging." and you can summon portals again.

So this is not as hard as it first might seem. We did three bosses in an evening pretty fast and pretty efficient.
What you want to do is:

Make sure to read "Xirev"s amazing comment on how the beacons work.
Make sure the "Nether Disruptor" building is up on the shore. This strategy depends on it.
Get a group of 5 people. Be sure to have a tank or healer for the bosses later.
Get some "Nether portal disruptors", sells of one of the Nethershard vendors on the shore. Get about 4-5 each.
All fly around in a group looking for "Unstable portals" on the shore (they are marked with a purple icon on the mini-map).
Activate the portals, and all loot the boss spawned, he should drop several "Sentinax beacon of Greater XXs"
After you got a ton of these (and you are out of Nether portal disruptors) get to under the Sentinax.
Follow Xirev's amazing comment about what beacons drop what boss item.
Use one type of beacon at a time. I.e. start of with all the groups "Sentinax beacons of Greater torment" for example. Use one beacon every 10th second or so. When someone loot the epic boss beacon, call it out and all stop using rare Greater beacons.
When the portal is cleared, summon and kill the boss. (Beware, some of them might be hard) After he's dead, repeat from step 7, picking a new type.
If you are all out of Greater shards from that type, without getting a boss beacon (highly unlikely) you either repeat from step 7 if you got more beacons from another type or from step 3 if you are all out of beacons.

If you after one or two iterations of this only have one or so bosses left, do check Xirev's comment of what beacon type you should target to get that boss to spawn.
General tip is to communicate and keep it structured, so it is best if the leader gives clear directives on what beacons to use and when to do bosses and so on. Very easy that people jump the gun and start spawning a lot of different type portals and that just becomes a mess.

IMPORTANT: You can extend the life of a greater beacon with regular beacon of the same color.

I tried to solo this following the advice and found it to be unsoloable. I had gathered around 60 greens and 60 blues of all the various colors (orange seems hardest to come by). I decided to do some research and popped the (blue version) "Greater Domination". At the 10 second mark, I popped the green version "Domination". It did indeed keep the same portal open, but it did not summon the mini-bosses from the blue version "Draining Eye" and "Debilitating Eye". All it summoned was the annoying mobs from the green version. I repeated this five times to be certain and can say with authority that while popping the green version of a beacon does in fact keep the portal from collapsing, it won't summon the mini-bosses that drop the purple Portal Stones. So when Duappe says you need a group of 5 to farm a "TON" of blue versions, that is the truth! Because the greens are only good for farming nethershard crystals, they don't do anything for summoning the purple portal stone. You need tons and tons of the blues. I don't know how many blues it takes for a purple to drop because nobody gave us a hint. I gave up at 5 both times I experimented, because clearly this is a group achieve. The problem is that sentinax farmers are only farming greens - they don't give a damn about the achieve, and just like Alani was at the beginning - you can get ninjas that swoop in to steal your monsters so they are greyed out even though you are the one that summoned them. So a purple might drop and you wouldn't even get it because some Dev at Blizz was too dense to realize that (a) the monsters should be bound to the summoner's group (b), using greens to maintain the portal should summon more mini-bosses (c) the drop rate of the purple portal stone should be around 100% for the mini-bosses (33% at the least), instead of the 5% that it currentlly seems to be. Now I have to put out a Group Finder banner to look for those willing to group for Naxt Victim. I have yet to see anybody else working on this achieve, although occasionally I see Horde farming the blue versions of the Greater Beacons, so I know someone is doing this achieve. DAMN YOU BLIZZ~!

This is my Guide:

1. Get a team of 4-5 people (never use raidgroup)
2. Buy enough Nether Portal Disuptors when Nether Tower is up and use them to farm the rares.
3. Get enough beacons of the blue rarity, 10+ of each kind within the team.
4. After this you want to make sure you are alone at the Sentinax so you can loot everything and no other people spawning more portals.
5. When ready decide which color for a boss you want to start with, use only one beacon at the time. Be sure people loot at the portals before starting next one.
6. 3 portals will spawn and make sure someone is killing at each portal.

In my team we had 5 people at the end, 1 tank, 1 healer and three dps, we did exactly as Ive written and we usually got a boss beacon around the 4th-7th beacon used.

Prepare a group and get this achievement!

Warning!

The summoned boss will despawn if the Sentinax moves while you are killing it. You will lose the kill and have to farm for the portal stone all over.

Using the uncommon (green) beacons seems to be an inefficient way to farm the epic (purple) beacons. I looted 2 epic BoEs during a morning of using about 50 uncommon beacons, but no epic beacon dropped. In my opinion, the drop rate for the epic beacons is too low.

Is this achievement even possible these days?
I am only asking as I have been farming beacons for about 4 hours, and whilst I have spawned over a dozen portals, I have not looted a single greater beacon.
I have 4 lieutenants to kill and I am just wondering since I would expect to loot at least 1 greater beacon in that time frame.

If there is no Sentinax on the map it means you need to do more broken shore (and maybe some class order hall) quests, even if you're under Sentinax (you can see it). I believe The Broken Shore: Investigating the Legion is the last of the pre-requisites. You still able to loot beacons from mobs (if party members opened a portal, for instance), but you will not be able to use them and you will not have The Shadow of the Sentinax buff on you.

Still possible in 2019. Here is what I did:

A) Farm rare beacons. Can be done solo. Takes 1-2 months.

Farm up tp 37500 Nethershards before Nether Tower is up and buy 150 Nether Portal Disuptors (You can use 50 per day and Tower is up about 3 days). This can take several weeks right now. When Nether Tower is up use them to farm the rares. Each rare has 60k to 191k healthpoints. Follow the waypoint list postet earlier in the comments here. Each round of flying along waypoints took be about 7 minutes with 7-9 portals, followed by a 20 minutes break which I found useful, so the next round had a similar number of portals again. This I did 6-7 times a day when Nether Tower was up. I did this twice (two cycles of Nether Tower construction, total 6 nether portal days) and ended up with 25-40 beacons each color. which was way more than needed. Half would have been enough.

B) Farm epic beacons. Should be done in group of 3 (what I did). Can probably be done solo. Takes about 1-2 hours.

With a group of 3 use beacons under ne Sentinaxx. I read something about prolonging portals. I found it to be not necessary. Just use beacon, 3 portals spawn, split up, kill until despawn, fly around looting everything. The portals for each color of beacon stay the same at each Sentinaxx location. I also found it to be totally random. While 3/6 colors dropped around 4th to 7th beacon, one dropped at 10th beacon, one at 1st beacon and for one color it dropped 2 epic beacons at once around 5th beacon. So in retrospect just farming 10 of each color would have been enough. You probably have to tripple that number if you use the keys alone.

C) Summon and kill bosses. As many people as you like to participate. Takes about 20 minutes.

Go to Sentinaxx, spawn bosses by using epic beacons (1,51m healthpoints), and kill them. Spawn location changes (probably with every color), you see a skull on the minimap. After this the Sentinaxx has to recharge, which takes about 3 minutes, before you can go again.

Well Hey! I want to share my experience with that achievement.

Me and two other players were waiting for the Nether building to be activated so we can start the beacon farming. I started earlier that day with a random group from the LFG tool. They were farming beacons long before me so we stopped after 30 minutes to realm-hop to a low pop server so we can start the portal farming (we were 5 by then). We started by summoning the big (rare) beacons and we were empowering them with the small beacons of the same color. To my surprise, I noticed that the boss portal items were dropping kinda easy (20 min MAX per boss drop). After a while, we found +4 other people and we created a raid JUST to kill the bosses. You can take the credit from the boss kill in the raid but you cant farm the portals in a raid group. We then separated into 2 groups of 5 and 4 people to farm the next boss, but to be honest... one group was enough, because as I said the boss items were dropping so fast.

So, everything went well! I finished my achievement in an hour and then helped the others to finish theirs. I did not keep time but I guess it was MAX 2 hours for all bosses. For more information, you can ask anything in the comments! From my perspective, you just need to organize and you can finish in a day. @blob42 suggests good tactics to follow. Enjoy!

Did it today (few hours ago, so would be yesterday) with a friend using the strategy a few posters suggested lately: what makes this achievement normally hard is that it's very hard to come by rare (blue) beacons, so if you farm uncommon (green) beacons you will hardly get any rare one and then won't get any boss in any realistic time frame.

What really helps, as a few previous posters suggested, is that when the nether disruptor is up (3 days every 2-3 weeks) you can buy nether portal disruptors for just 250 nethershards each, can only open 50 portals a day, so max 150 per character per nether disruptor cycle, fly around and open the unstable nether portals you find, they have reasonable respawn, 5-10 mins and are therefore quite easy to find active, and the mobs summoned by these portals give a guaranteed rare beacon, with the exception of the imps, that are nowadays bugged and give no loot.

I farmed 3 days with warrior, which took 37,5k nethershards and 2 days with dk (25k nethershards), you also recover some nethershards by doing this, so the net cost isn't as high as it seems and I agreed with a friend to summon the portals together, so that we could cover 2 portals, kill all mobs on those and then loot each other's portals once we were done, this increased the chance for bosses considerably, we also had to get ourselves invited to a german rp realm, cause the english normal crz was swarming with people summoning uncommon sentinax portals, so does more harm than good when it comes to this achi.

I was missing 4 bosses and my friend 2, so we only really needed the beacons of torment (which dropped very soon, 2-3 rare portals), warbeasts (also very soon, 2-3), firestorm (5-6), carnage (2-3), and I had 20 to 30 portals of each type on warrior and around 20 of each type on dk, so this was absolutely overkill, as it's the case I could've done half a day (25 nether portal disruptor) farming and would've been enough, although it's a good thing to be prepared for the worst luck ofc, in any case with the amount we needed, 15 rare beacons per type (2 days of farming) would've been fine even summoning the portals solo.

Bosses have 1,5 mil, so easy enough to kill and they don't die instantly, you have time to get there, and you get around 10k nethershards back if you farm the amount of time we did (which isn't a lot).

Want to add my two cents at the end of BfA, where's I've read some people spending weeks to get this done I ended up doing five out of six bosses in about two hours yesterday, starting from scratch, in a duo (thanks to the otherwise Horde-main rogue that supported me throughout!). The sixth was one of the three I had already done.

Tl;dr. The key is not to have as many beacons as possible (one rare per color can easily be enough), the key is to cover all portals at the Sentinax and loot all mobs in a party of at least three. As there are three portals to cover, your loot is increased, compared to solo:

4x in a duo (2x2).
9x in a trio (3x3).
12x in a quartet (3x4).
15x in a full party (3x5).

Additionally you get more rare beacons from Nether Portals and more uncommon beacons from rares, so all in all much less time to farm. If you have any rare beacons of colors you need, start farming Sentinax mobs (one beacon in a party of three can easily be enough), else start farming Nether Portals (Disruptor up) or rares (Disruptor down) to get rare and/or uncommon beacons respectively.

A step-wise guide for those that want it:
Prerequisites:

A party of three or more.
The Nether Disruptor is highly recommended.
Either rare beacons of the colors you need, ~10 Nether Portal Disruptors, or 2500 Nethershard on either party member.

Use the following priority list for any color you still need with the party. I've listed it as such as you can step in at any step of the list depending on how you start.

Use boss beacons at the Sentinax, get credit and wait for the Sentinax to recharge.
Use rare beacons at the Sentinax, spread out to cover all three portals. Use beacons of the same color (either rarity!) to extend the duration. Loot all elites for boss beacons.
Nether Disruptor UP: farm rare beacons by disrupting Unstable Nether Portal using Nether Portal Disruptor.
Nether Disruptor DOWN: use uncommon beacons at the Sentinax, spread out to cover all three portals. Loot all mobs for rare beacons.
Farm uncommon beacons by killing elites and rares.

The following lists shows what beacons spawn what, so you know what to kill and not to kill depending on the colors you need.

Broken Shore elites drop any uncommon beacon.
Nether Portal elites drop any rare beacon.
Uncommon Sentinax mobs drop their rare beacon and any uncommon beacon with a higher drop chance for their own color.
Rare Sentinax mobs can only drop their boss beacons.
Sentinax lieutenants drop any variety uncommon beacons and special beacons (but not rare).

Blue (Than'otalion)

Green (Skulguloth)

Red (Force-Commander Xillious)

Yellow (An'thyna)

Orange (Fel Obliterator)

Purple (Illisthyndria)

Spent a few hours today with a group of 3 using only the greater Sentinax Beacons to try and get the portal stones. But despite using dozens of greater beacons none of us saw the epic portal stone drop for any beacon type. They really need to increase the drop rate T_T

RNG is impossible post expansion. Heavily relied on groups to get this achievement done in its time.

To get enough Greater Beacons from Mobs to even get a fraction of the chance for the Lieutenant Stone is like 1/1000 within a 1/1000 of a chance.

Definitely, something to be reevaluated as necessary for expansion completion, maybe a feat of strength.

Patch 10.2.5 Update. I have now killed Force-Commander Xillious and Illisthyndria. Both times I never got a "Purple Stone" to drop. I was using the Blue quality beacons I had farmed while the Nether Disruptor was up. I was just throwing them down about every 15 seconds till I ran out. This was about 20-25 of each type. After I was done and selling things that had dropped. Out of nowhere in the same location a portal opened and out popped the Bosses. At first I though it was a glitch or maybe someone else spawned it but then it happen twice the exact same way.

Looking for anyone to do this with. I have An'thyna and Skul done from when it was current, but glad to help get those for anyone, too. I just used 18 torment beacons and just wasn't killing fast enough I guess, as they are so far apart. I only have a handful of the other beacons right now, but farming them daily. BTag is Smashs#1238.

Farming beacons till I can find a group to raise the drop chance of an epic.

I JUST WANT TO MAKE THIS CLEAR:

After reading a few older posts I think some might be confused on the drops of the green and blue (rare) beacons.

You get green ones killing the various 2-3 rare mobs that pop up in broken shores (green heads on map). they rotate every 20 min or so and are always going no matter what's active.

you get the blue ones (rare / greater ones) from farming the nether portals using the nether portal disruptors that are bought from vendor (same vendor that sells the dauntless items). Of course this means you can only farm them when the nether disruptor is active at the table (that is the ONLY time the portals will show up). Once you do a lap and clear the portals it will take about 20 min for a new set of them to pop up in random places. if you want to have an idea of where they are or could be then use the handy notes plugin for broken shore. Lastly, the portals will show up with a blue arrow on your mini-map making them much easier to track down.

I did this in Dragonflight, with 4 other people here's what we did:

Farmed rares for Uncommon (green) stones, and farmed Rare (blue) stones from the portals that appear while the Nether Disruptor is active.

You need an item from the Legionfall vendor near the Mage Tower to activate the Nether Disruptor portals.

Once you have enough of each, go to the Sentinax Zone. Use a Rare (blue) quality stone to summon Empowered Portals (you will know because it has 2 small orbs floating above it)

Use the Uncommon (green) stones of the SAME TYPE (eg: Devastator, Engi, etc) while the Empowered Portals are active to Extend the Duration. You can do this every 20-30 seconds, about 5 times before needing a new Rare (blue) quality stone to re-summon.

We did this for each of the stone types until an Epic (purple) stone dropped, summoned the Lieutenant, rinse & repeat.

Took around 2 hrs. Recommend not using a raid as fewer items will drop.
